Fashion Carnival ! Membius Masyarakat, Jadi Ajang Berselfie

(bangun banua)

Fashion Carnival!

Anesthetize the Community, Become a Selfie Event

TEPIAN Segah River or better known by the community with the edge of the Lotus is the most crowded place on Monday (29/7) afternoon. Residents who usually only spend time while sitting enjoying the twilight on the banks of the river, are suddenly startled by the presence of several people using costumes like they are doing a carnival. All eyes were on the costumes worn by the trainees in making the design and costumes of the local Berau carnival.

As if to sedate the people who were there, they immediately scrambled to take selfie photos with costumes of hornbills and turtles. The workshop on making carnival costumes in the second year by the Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) Berau in fact successfully made people amazed. Not only that, a variety of new models and designs made this year also become a special attraction for the community.

Instantly, the banks of the Lotus became a venue for a carnival costume parade and a selfie place. In fact, not only the residents of Tanjung Redeb are curious to watch the parade. Residents from Teluk Bayur, Sambaliung to Gunung Tabur were willing to come far just to be able to see first hand the work of the workshop participants. Unmitigated, those who in fact are far from the location also use ketinting to cross the river to get to the location faster.

“I was told by the children that there is a display of this carnival costume. And like last year I also came to see first hand. Even homeowners were curious to see, so we were busy coming to Tanjung Redeb. It feels proud that Berau can make his own carnival costume with his distinctive design. If possible, a parade can be held like this so that people can better know that the Berau culture has become more advanced with the existence of homemade carnival costumes, “explained one resident of Teluk Bayur, Lena, who claimed that since 3 o’clock she and her family were waiting on location.

In addition to pampering the eyes of visitors and residents who were there, the blessings were also felt by the traders along the Derawan Island Road. Their sales turnover increased with the parade of this carnival costume parade.

“So crowded. Yes, even though without a parade, there were already many visitors, but with this event it became more crowded. Selling me is selling well, especially if the weather is also hot, can be sold out before night, “said Yadi, one of the food vendors on site. (bangun banua)
